Sunshine STEM Academy offers after school and weekend STEM enrichment classes, camps, and workshops in Science, Technology, Engineering, Math, Reading, and Art subjects in a small class size setting in Alpharetta, Georgia.

Accelerated Math 7 Course - 2 Hours a Week

Course Description:

This course is intended for students planning on taking 7th grade Math course in the Fall term. Students will review prerequisite skills & concepts and will also be introduced number sense and operations, algebra, geometry and spatial sense, measurement, and data analysis and probability.

About Instructor

Sema Duzyol, experienced High School Math Teacher & Math Olympiad Coach, holds BS degree in Engineering and MS in Mathematics. Ms. Duzyol is two time recipient of Edyth May Sliffe National Education award in 2018 and 2019. She has taught all levels of high school mathematics courses including AP Calculus AB, AP Calculus BC, AP Statistics, Calculus II and Multi-variable Calculus courses. Mrs. Duzyol coached Georgia State Mathcounts Team for the last six years at the National Mathcounts Competition in 2016-2022. Best placement of Georgia Mathcounts Team under her leadership is 4th place in the Nation, additionally Georgia won the "Most Improved Team" award for their impressive trajectory two years in a row in 2016 and 2017. In only two short years after she started coaching, Georgia has advanced from 28th place to fourth in the country, the highest ranking ever achieved in the state’s history.
